Visit Valldemossa and get lost in the small streets!

Yesterday I did a little trip with my friend who is from Mallorca. We went to a charming town, Valldemossa, close to Palma. I love this town, small streets and stone houses surrounded by mountains and a stunning green Mediterranean nature. The small streets are full of little shops, bars, restaurants and cafés.

When I go to places that I don’t know, I love to “get lost” in the streets and jump in to the first bar or café that attracts me. I saw a little bar that looked like a basement; it was very small, but oh so charming. We had a glass of vine at bar table next to a big window and the view was amazing. It was very grey out side, but it has been so warm this summer so I was quit happy and the grey weather just made this city more fantastic.

For those how are very interested in classical music, Valldemossa is a city to visit. The great Chopin lived here and every year there is a Chopin music festival in the Valldemosa Monastery.

Valldemossa is around 20 minutes away from Palma, and the good motorway on the island makes it very easy to travel. I live in the southwest and it took us less than 40 minutes to get there. Valldemossa is getting quit popular and there is a lot of fantastic Majorca Properties
here!

Both a night club & a bar

This Friday I went to the night club Abraxas at Avenida de Gabriel Roca (Palma). It is a night club, but also a perfect place for a chat with your friends over some drinks. The new terrace in Abraxas is perfect for just that. Me and my friend spent some time catching up in one of the low sofas on the terrace behind the fantastic old stone wall, which really takes away all the noise from the city.

The terrace

Both me and my friend liked the chill out and chic atmosphere at Abraxas and that is because of the mixed ages of people and the different areas at the club. Like I said, I really liked the terraces ad the jam session we where lucky to see. But of course, we enjoyed the dance floor and the vip area in the main room to. During the night I heard that it is not unusual to run in to the Spanish football players or other celebrities at this place.

Vip area (in main room)

What is good with Abraxas and other night clubs in this area, is that it’s very easy to get there. For those, like my friend, which lives in a
Majorca Property in the southwest, it takes around 15 minutes to get there.

More than a hotel! BBQ & Jazz

As we are preparing a guide over the most exclusive hotels, bars, restaurants, night clubs and beach clubs etc on Mallorca and Ibiza, I’m know writing an article about the Son Julia Country House Hotel (Mallorca). It’s mansion from the 15th century and the gardens are amazing!
What I really like about this historical finca hotel is that you can enjoy privacy and relaxation as well as participate in many of the activities this hotel provides…. But you will read more about it when our guide is ready.

Every Tuesday night this summer there is a BBQ on the poolside at Son Julia, where the chefs are cocking live! My friends will soon come and visit me and I think I will take them there.

I like Jazz, especially when it’s preformed live and Majorca has several nice Jazz bars. Son Julia started this summer to have live Jazz every Thursday night and what I’ve heard and what I can imagine (after seeing all the pictures) is that has to be magical. I mean, with a mansion and gardens like that? It has to be.

So, I have to put BBQ-night and Jazz-night at Son Julia Country House Hotel on my “To Do List”.

Cap de Formentor- Majorca’s north-eastern Tipp

Cap Formentor, Majorca’s unique headland, is situated at the northernmost point of the island and is particularly impressive with its nature and breathtaking views. The Majorcans call this peninsula “meeting point of the winds”, as the cliff is primarily shaped by wind and weather. Also numerous pine trees and dwarf palm trees cover the steep cliffs of the peninsula. If you want to explore Cap Formentor, you will be rewarded with unforgettable views in all directions. Many vantage points offer the eye spectacular views of this steep cliff. In particular the Mirador del Mas Pas promises breathtaking panoramic views.
