All of the Majorca property owners that have come to the island among other reasons or especially because of the possibility to spend their spare time dedicated to their favourite hobby golf, might already know: Majorca island provides the best conditions for enthusiastic golf players. This dreamlike conditions provided by the 23 golf courses on the island are supposed to be advertised more in the upcoming years. The international association of golf tourism tour operators decided this together with the government of the Balearic Islands. The association and the minister of tourism Miquel Nadal defined the goals of the marketing concept. Within two years, the number of golf tourists is supposed to increase by 15 percent and the island is supposed to be the market leader in golf tourism. Especially German, British and Swiss guests should be attracted by the adverts. At the moment Majorca Island already is the island with the biggest number of golf courses among the islands in the Mediterranean sea. Last year over 100.000 golf players visited Majorca. This has an enormous economical effect: they spent about 234 million Euros. In average every golf tourist spends 185 hours a day and the average duration of stay is ten days. The lucky ones that own their own Majorca property of course can enjoy the given opportunities the whole year long. By the way: many fantastic Majorca properties are situated just beside one of the golf courses – a dream for every golf fan.
