They are going strong already since a many days: the preparations for the sixth TUI Marathon which takes place this Sunday in Palma de Mallorca. The organizers already could register a new record number of starters. According to that information the number of runners is already 20 percent above the number of the last year. In 2008 6310 runners took part in the event. For the first time the official marathon competition of the Balearic Islands is integrated in this event. Beside the marathon distance it is by the way also possible to go for the half-marathon or a ten-kilometers-run. Also a kids run will take place which has as well a charity aim. There is also a new discipline this year – Nordic Walkers can also cope with the ten kilometers. The running route was changed a bit compared to last year. Like every year for sure their will also be some owners of Mallorca property among the starters. For everyone who does not want to run himself but only visit Palma at that day while spending his or her holiday in the Majorca property at the moment, there is great entertainment as well. For example the author Achim Achilles which is known for his running articles will read from his latest book and there will also be a “pasta party” with the well-known DJs Blank & Jones. In the discotheque Mega Park there will be the official “after-race-party” with the German singer Jürgen Drews.
