The Majorcan Ballet season was first held in 1995 and since then took place every year in the lovely property of the Auditorium in Palma de Mallorca. Now it has become one of the most prestigious dance events in Spain. The Ballet Season is a combination of Spanish classical, neoclassical and modern dance performances by both national and international artists. Since the very first season, thousands of spectators have enjoyed performances. The public interest becomes even stronger with every show. In the last seasons nationally and internationally renown artists, such as Sara Baras, Víctor Ullate, Rafael Amargo, Ballet Lausanne Maurice Béjart, The La Scala de Milán Ballet, Angel Corella & Stars of the American Ballet, Joaquín Cortés, Julio Bocca and Ballet Argentino, Les Ballets de Montecarlo, Ballet Cristina Hoyos and many others performed on the event. The Spanish National Ballet started this year´s season on the 23rd May. The next event will take place on the 13th of June with the Compania Antonio Gades, followed by the Stars of the New York City Ballet in August. The last show will be held in February 2010 with the Ballet of the Opera in Leipzig, which will be accompanied by a live orchestra.
